Abstract Submission Guidelines
Selection Mechanism
All participants must send their abstracts to our website before June 30th, 2023.
Participants who pass the abstract selection will be announced through the symposium's website
Participants shortlisted for poster presentation or oral presentation must send their full paper as word files to the website before September 15th, 2023 as a requirement for e-proceeding (with ISBN)
The abstracts can be original research or case reports.
Abstract submission guidelines
All submissions must be in English and the presentations in English.
Abstracts must be typed with Times New Roman, font size 12 pts, space 1.5, and no more than 300 words (not including title, section headings, and author information).
Abstracts should include: Title (maximum 14 words), typed in capitals and bold Authors name and their affiliations (presenter's name should be underlined).
Maximum 5 keywords: use words that are contained in the Medical index.
Tables, diagrams, graphs, etc CAN NOT be accepted in the abstract submission.
Acceptance/timing/ presentation/discussion of all papers and posters are at the discretion of the Scientific Committee.
Notification of acceptance/timing/ presentation/discussion will be included in an email correspondence sent to the submitting author
Oral & Poster Guidelines
PRESENTATION GUIDELINE
Otorhinolaryngology International Academic Conference (ORLIAC) in conjunction with Indonesian Annual Scientific Meeting Otology (PITO) XIII
Speakers will be given 7 minutes to present the paper, and 3 minutes for questions and discussion. Presenters are requested not to exceed the allotted time slot.
We recommend that you submit your presentation slides to our website five days prior to the event to give us ample time to save your presentations to our computer. It will also provide us the opportunity to test your presentation with the equipment that we will be using on the day.
The ORLIAC PITO Committee accepts Power Point Presentation (.ppt) as general presentation format.
E-posters will be displayed at the foyer in front of meeting rooms.
Technical Specifications:
- E-posters can contain text, and tools in the form of (tables, images, and photos)
- E-Poster Design has an ideal composition between text and tables/images/images. Images and tables must not exceed 50% of the poster area.
- The file format should be JPG/JPEG/PNG
- Posters should be made in portrait orientation and using a 9:16 ratio.
- The total size of the e-poster should not exceed 10 MB.
- It is suggested that the font size of the text should be at least 24 points.
- The contents of the posters include the title, author(s) name (s), affiliations, abstract content, and references.
- Allocate the top of the poster for the title and authors as stated on the submitted abstract.
- The text, illustrations, etc. should be bold enough to be read from a distance of two meters.
Poster Overview:
- Presenters are requested to stand by their posters for a 3 minutes discussion during the poster session time advised by email.
- Posters should be set-up at the beginning of the sessions and dismantled at the end of the sessions on the day the poster is presented.
Please include the ORLIAC PITO logo on the upper left of the poster. Abstract title, author name(s), and the institution can be placed in large letters at the top-center of the poster. You may put your contact information on the upper right-hand corner of your poster (optional).
Key features to include in the poster:
- Clear, concise overview of the research paper
- Brief literature review (optional)
- Key facts, analysis and arguments relating to the research question
- Author’s conclusion and points of discussion
- Appropriate acknowledgment and references
During Conference:
- Posters will remain on display for the whole duration of the conference.
- Presenters must be available to answer questions and discuss your findings with conference participants or interested delegates.
Guidelines for the original research full paper
- Maximum of 15 pages, written in two colums
- Title: written in a briefly concise, specific, and informative manner. Maximum 14 words (not more than 14), written in sentence case (capitalizing only the first word) bold, font 14 Times New Roman.
- Writer’s name: contains the writer’s full name, no abbreviation, and the institution of the writer’s domicile. Should the writers belong to several institutions, give a number for complying with their institutions.
- Abstract: consists of background, purpose, method, result, and conclusion.
- Introduction: briefly explains the background and the purpose of undertaking this research.
- Methods: contains a clarification of the materials and research context. The research method must be described clearly.
- Result: reported in narration sentences. Maximum 5 tables or graphics can be used to accommodate important data
- Discussion: elaborates the research result: the meaning or benefit of the research both for the study itself as well as for clinical application, also the difference and similarity with other studies.
- Conclusion: conclusion and suggestion
- Acknowledgment: anyone contributing service to this research, should be mentioned briefly.
- Reference: written according to Vancouver Style. The number of references should be between 10-30 (not more than 30).
Guidelines for Case Report full paper

- Introduction : briefly explains the background and the purpose of undertaking this research.
- Case Presentation : briefly explains the case with the PICO format (Problem, Index/Intervention/Indicator, Comparison and Outcome)
- Method : briefly explains steps in searching evidence base
- Discussion : Analysis of whether the case is in accordance with the literature
- Conclusion : conclusion and suggestion
- Reference : written according to Vancouver Style. The number of references should be between 10-30 (not more than 30).
The following conditions will apply:
- Oral presentations can only be presented by one author
- Presenters must be listed as authors on the submission
- Accepted presenters must register, pay and attend the congress; otherwise the abstract will not be included in the official program
- Abstract submissions remain the property of ORL-HNS and the Scientific Committee reserves the right to publish and distribute

Oral presentations will be asked to present an oral presentation at the congress including a PowerPoint presentation and Q&A with the audience.

E-Poster presentations will be scheduled and can be seen on LED monitor
